The Association of Ghanaian Scholars in Hong Kong (AGSHK) represents more than a community of Ghanaian students and researchers pursuing academic and professional aspirations away from home. It is a family united by a shared identity, a commitment to academic excellence, and a collective desire to make meaningful contributions to society. Rooted in the values of unity, mutual support, intellectual curiosity, and service, our Association provides a platform for scholarly engagement, professional development, cultural exchange, and lasting friendships
As Ghanaian scholars in one of the world’s most dynamic and internationally connected academic environments, we recognise both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with our educational journeys. Beyond the pursuit of individual academic achievements, we believe in the transformative power of knowledge, collaboration, and collective action. We aspire not only to excel in our respective disciplines but also to contribute to the advancement of scholarship, innovation, and sustainable development in Ghana, Hong Kong, and the wider global community.
Our vision is to build a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking scholarly community in which every member feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. We remain committed to strengthening the bonds among our members, promoting academic and professional networking, supporting the welfare of scholars, and fostering meaningful partnerships with institutions, organisations, and communities that share our aspirations.
As President, I am particularly committed to building on the foundations laid by those who have served before us while exploring new opportunities to enhance the visibility, relevance, and impact of our Association. I believe that our greatest strength lies in our diversity of experiences, disciplines, perspectives, and talents. By bringing these strengths together, we can create opportunities that extend beyond our individual academic pursuits and leave a lasting legacy for future generations of Ghanaian scholars.

Our History
As the years went by, especially in the mid-2010s, more Ghanaians were gaining admission to Hong Kong universities. Concerns were raised about the need for a coalition and a common platform for these students. The common platform was intended to assist everyone in their studies in Hong Kong.
